At Hablandis, in Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga), our Spanish courses for adults are for students aged 16 and over and fit what you are looking for: the intensive course (20 lessons a week), the semi-intensive course (10 lessons and your afternoons free), the combined course (intensive plus one private lesson a day), the Bildungsurlaub course for German workers and private lessons. Groups average 8 students, with a maximum of 12, and you can start any Monday.
Learning Spanish as an adult: a different way of learning, not a worse one
Adults don’t learn like children, and they don’t have to. You have fewer free hours and more on your mind, but you also know what you want, you know how you learn best and you understand the rules when someone explains the reason behind them. And above all, you have something to talk about: your work, your life, your travels.
That is why our classes start from what you already know and what you need to say. Plenty of comprehensible input (texts, audio and conversations that you understand almost completely and that move you forward), grammar explained in a way that makes sense and, above all, lots of time to speak. We like to talk, and you can tell in class.
Which Spanish course is right for you?
It depends on how much time you have and how fast you want to progress.
- Intensive course. 20 lessons of 55 minutes a week, four a day from Monday to Friday. To make fast progress in a few weeks.
- Semi-intensive course. 10 lessons a week, from 10:00 to 11:50 am. For longer stays, or if you want time to experience Spanish outside the classroom.
- Combined course. The 20 lessons of the intensive course plus a private lesson every day: 25 lessons a week. To work on your specific goals with a teacher just for you.
- Bildungsurlaub course. The intensive course with two private lessons a week, recognized for the educational leave of German workers. One or two weeks.
- Private lessons. Tailored to you, in content and schedule.
If you are coming in summer with your children, also take a look at the family course: they go to the camp and you go to class, in the same building.
What a week at Hablandis looks like
On the first day you take a placement test and we put you in the right group, from A1 to C2. Classes are in the morning. In the afternoon, Spanish moves out into the street: Rincón de la Victoria is a coastal town where the language of the bars, the market and the beach is Spanish, not English. And Málaga is fifteen minutes away.
You can stay with a host family, which is the most direct way to practice every day, or in an apartment.
What’s included and what to know
- Enrollment fee: €45, one time only. It includes the placement test, the materials and the final certificate.
- Dates: you can start any Monday of the year, except public holidays and from December 21 to January 6, when the school closes for Christmas.
- Accreditation: we are a center accredited by the Instituto Cervantes. And if you need an official certificate, we are an exam center for the DELE and SIELE.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an upper age limit for learning Spanish?
No. Our classes have students of all ages from 16 up. What counts is your level, not your age: that is why we place you in a group after the placement test.
Can I start if I don't know any Spanish?
Yes. There are beginner-level groups and you can start any Monday.
How many weeks do I need?
It depends on your starting point and your goal. After the placement test we advise you on how many weeks you need.
