Our story
A language is learned by speaking it
We started in 2011 as La Playa Escuela de Español and La Playa Idiomas; today we are Hablandis, International Language Center. The name comes from “hablar” (to speak), because that is what we do in class from day one: learning a language is not just studying it, it is using it with other people.
We are in Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga), facing the sea and away from the mass-tourism circuit. Students from all over the world and neighbors from the area come together here, and you can feel it in the classrooms and outside them.
A place for every stage
Whether you come from far away or live right next door, there is a place for you at Hablandis:
- If you are coming to Spain: Spanish courses and study trips for school groups, with accommodation in host families or a hotel.
- If you are a teacher: we are teachers who train other teachers. Training courses for teachers of Spanish (ELE), the Trinity CertTESOL for English teachers, and courses for teachers within Erasmus+ projects.
- If you live nearby: year-long English, German, French and Italian courses for children, teenagers and adults.
- In summer: the international summer camp, with English or Spanish classes, sports and beach.
Accredited quality
What we say about ourselves is backed by these institutions:
- Instituto Cervantes: accredited center and official examination center for the DELE, SIELE and CCSE exams.
- Trinity College London: examination center for the GESE English exams and training center for the Trinity CertTESOL, Trinity’s initial qualification for English teachers, internationally recognized.
- Erasmus+: we organize courses for teachers and stays for groups of students within Erasmus+ projects.
- Bildungsurlaub (Germany): our courses are recognized for educational leave for German employees.
- CSN (Sweden): we are recognized by the CSN, the Swedish student finance authority, so Swedish students can study with us using their grant or loan.
- Cambridge English: preparation center for the Cambridge exams (Cambridge English Preparation Centre).
- ISO 9001 and ISO 14001: certified quality management and environmental management systems.
We teach adults, teenagers and children, and we train teachers of foreign languages. Beyond the accreditations, what speaks best for our work is the trust our students place in us, course after course.
