Long-term Spanish course
Learn Spanish for months and live in Spain
The long-term course is our intensive or semi-intensive course taken for 12 weeks or more, up to a full academic year. It is the option for anyone who wants to reach a high level of Spanish and spend a longer time living in Spain. The intensive course, with 20 teaching hours a week, also lets you apply for a student visa.
-
What options are there?
Intensive, with 20 lessons a week (4 a day), or semi-intensive, with 10 lessons a week (2 a day). Each lesson lasts 55 minutes. -
How long is it?
From 12 to 48 weeks.
-
What are the hours?
Monday to Friday. Intensive, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm; semi-intensive, from 10:00 to 11:50 am. -
What level do I need?
None: there are groups from A1 to C2. You take a placement test on your first day. -
When can I start?
Any Monday of the year, except holidays and from December 21 to January 6, when the school closes for Christmas.
About the course
A few weeks of classes give you a foundation; a few months change your relationship with the language. With time ahead of you, Spanish stops being a school subject and becomes the language you live in: you do your grocery shopping, sign up at the gym, meet up with local people. You progress level by level in groups of 8 students on average (12 at most), and the placement test on your first day and your teacher’s follow-up show you where you stand at every stage.

Student visa
If you need a visa to study in Spain, we send you an invitation letter confirming your enrollment. To issue it:
- You must enroll in the in-person intensive course (20 teaching hours a week). The semi-intensive course does not qualify for the visa.
- You must have paid for the full course and, if you ask us to, the accommodation.
The letter states the price and hours of the course, its dates, the vacation periods and the address of your accommodation. With a student visa, class attendance is mandatory: we keep a daily record and, if there are unexcused absences, we have to report them to the authorities. Apply for your visa in good time: processing times depend on the consulate. The full terms (changes, refunds if your visa is denied) are in our terms and conditions.
University Pathway Program: from Spanish to university
If your goal is to study at a Spanish university, the University Pathway Program links the Spanish course with your university admission. There are two routes:
- Spanish + entrance exam preparation course: the Spanish course at Hablandis (15 or 24 weeks) followed by 20 weeks of preparation for the university entrance exam. From €5,250.
- Spanish + bachelor’s or master’s degree: the Spanish course plus a one-year master’s or MBA, or a three-year bachelor’s degree, at one of our partner universities. From €15,000.
It is a tailor-made program: write to us and we will tell you which option fits your studies.
Accommodation
We can find you accommodation with a host family (from age 12), which is the most direct way to practice Spanish every day, or in a shared or private apartment (from age 17). Check the prices in your quote.

Your questions answered
Can I start without knowing any Spanish?
Yes. There are beginner-level groups, and you can start any Monday.
Can I switch from intensive to semi-intensive during the course?
Ask us about your case. Keep in mind that, if you study on a student visa, you have to stay on the intensive course for the whole program.
What happens if my visa is denied?
We refund what you have paid, minus an administrative fee, if you send us the official denial notice. The exact terms are in our terms and conditions.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. When you finish, you receive a certificate stating the level and contents of the course. If you want an official qualification, we are an exam center for the DELE and the SIELE.
